Hurricane season, year-round humidity, and a large share of condos and multi-unit buildings all change what actually works in Miami.
Hurricane season runs June through November, and storm-related searches for roofing, plumbing, and electrical backup power all spike around major storms. Miami-Dade has some of the strictest hurricane building codes in the country since Hurricane Andrew, which makes wind-rated and impact-resistant work a real selling point here. Miami's mix of single-family homes and large condo buildings also means a meaningful share of demand is commercial or HOA-related, not just residential. Unlike Dallas, Miami doesn't sit on expansive clay soil — the ground here is mostly limestone, so foundation issues look different, more tied to flooding and water intrusion than shifting and cracking.
